True Blood Casts Beauties

True Blood dvd's Season 4 keeps filling roles left and right. Deadline is reporting that Janina Gavankar (The L Word dvd), Alexandra Breckenridge (Life Unexpected dvd) and Vedette Lim (As the World Turns dvd) have joined the big show.

So who will these three lovely ladies be playing? Well, Gavankar will play Luna, a sexy shape-shifting school teacher who is "first seen attending an informal gathering with others like her." Breckenridge will play Daisy, a member of "a wiccan group founded by Marnie" and a role that was just recently filled by Harry Potter dvd's Fiona Shaw. And Lim will portray Naomi, a fierce cage fighter.

Courteney Cox Copes with Humor, Hard Work

For Courteney Cox, the show and life must go on. "If we weren't friends and she didn't confide in me I wouldn't have any idea that anything was wrong," her Cougar Town costar Josh Hopkins tells us that She comes to set, she knows her stuff, and she's hilarious everyday. But Hopkins, who plays Cox's love interest, points out that some of the attention over the actress's split from David Arquette" has been noticed by Cox's 6-year-old daughter Coco. "The day that the news of the separation broke, there were paparazzi outside of their house, and they were taking pictures when Courteney took Coco to school," the actor said Friday at the OmniPeace by Jordan Klein launch. Hopkins, who was supporting his costar/boss by attending the event at Kitson in Hollywood, says that while all adult relationships have their share of turmoil, the fact that the split involves two celebrities makes it unique. "There's no doubt that they have a lot to deal with right now," he said, looking over at Courteney Cox who was sitting nearby, "more than you would in your average separation."

The Ladies joins Human Target

Human Target dvd was a very cool action series in Season 1, but it was also quite the boys club, with its three male leads. When Season 2 premieres this Wednesday that will change, as new characters Ilsa and Ames enter the series. During a visit to Vancouver, where Human Target films, I was part of a group of journalists who had breakfast with Varma, Montgomery and new executive producer/showrunner Matt Miller (Chuck dvd), to find out what to expect from these new additions to the series.
As Montgomery hinted, Ilsa is the wealthy new backer of Chance's group, offering to fund them, after she enlists their services and is impressed by what she sees. Comparing Ilsa and Ames, Varma said, "In a way we enter with different status. Ames comes in as a little fledgling, of low status. She needs controlling because she's young and out of control but full of potential. And Ilsa, she knows what she wants, she's an experienced woman, but not in this field. Human Target dvd box set will still focus on various case of the week stories, but Chance's backstory will also continue to be developed, though Miller noted that the plan was for a "loooong timetable" in that regard.

Takers Blu-ray follows a cadre of thieves as they plot a tricky new heist. The movie has two strengths: it deftly juggles three intertwining plot line and it walks a fine line between just enough realism to make us care about the thieves and just enough absurdity to make everything entertaining. It doesn't hurt that the man flesh is all ridiculously handsome and smashingly tailored in swank suits. And there are a handful of high energy sequences including a chase that features zippy parkour climbing stunts through moving traffic that give the story clichés a nice jolt of pep. All in all, Takers box set probably won't stick in your memory very long, but it's good fun while it lasts.

'Project Runway' winner 'wasn't surprised'

Project Runway dvd box set winner Gretchen Jones has claimed that she was the only real designer who deserved to win the latest season of the show.
Jones beat both Andy South and presumed favourite Mondo Guerra in the show's season finale, which aired last Thursday.
The designer also admitted that both she and fellow contestant Guerra had very contrasting styles, and for that reason claimed that she wasn't surprised when the judging panel was split when deciding the winner.

What Community's Alison Brie said about Scream

At recent Scream Awards, I had the chance to catch up with the very busy Alison Brie. Standing a few feet from Wes Craven, her director in Scream 4 , we spoke about that upcoming slasher film and Brie's huge fandom towards the series. We also discussed this year's big Community Halloween episode, airing this Thursday night. Not to mention, a brief chat about her Mad Men character, Trudy Campbell. Let no one accuse Alison Brie of slacking, that's for sure!Q: What can you say about your character in Scream 4?Brie: It is top secret! And my boss is standing right there! I play Rebecca. She works for Sidney Prescott and she's a little go-getter. She really admires Gale Weathers, I'll put it that way. She kind of has a little bit of Gale in her, I think. She'll really do anything to get ahead.Q: What can you say about this year's Community dvd Halloween episode?Brie: It's a full departure, that episode. We actually shot some more stuff for it. It's like the never-ending episode, which is good, because it's a very exciting episode. I don't want to give too much away, except we all really take a step out of reality. But it is grounded, like all the stories are. It's something that could actually happen at Greendale, taken to the extreme.Q: Is there a murder mystery element there, perhaps?Brie: I wouldn't say murder mystery. I'd say it's more like a monster story.Q: I saw a picture, and it looks like you're dressed as Little Red Riding Hood?Brie: Well, you might be right about that, that's not a crazy secret.
